The Excellence in Paediatrics Institute is pleased to announce the launch of an initiative to evaluate baby skincare practices around the world and to assess best practices for the care of a baby's skin.
There are tremendous variations in the practices used for the care of infant skin, affected by a large set of factors, including historical perspectives, region, cultural practices and commercial marketing. Paediatricians and other health care professionals, as well as parents and families, are uncertain as to what are reasonable and effective approaches to optimize the skin health of babies and young children. There are no internationally recognized guidelines on infant skincare. And much advice to parents may be made without knowledge of state-of-the-art research on neonatal and infant skin function.
The Global Baby Skincare Initiative has been developed to identify and dispel myths surrounding baby skincare, and to collect and disseminate the information to allow parents and their families to best care for their baby's skin.
By participating in the Baby Skincare Initiative, paediatric primary care providers can learn more about baby skincare and impart this knowledge to the families they care for. EiP believes in the medical values of proactive protection of baby skin, which may minimize harmful skin conditions. In this exciting new initiative, we will take a broad focus on preventive skincare and help drive the development of healthier and happier generations by helping to safely introduce active skincare as a routine part of healthcare from the very beginning.
The baby skincare arena is huge and rapidly evolving. Join us today to bring some long needed clarity to this field. Join our new skincare network and help EiP understand where the current competence gaps are among pediatricians and other health care practitioners. Upgrade your skincare skills and be informed when speaking with increasingly well-informed parents. Last but not least, stay updated together with EiP.
We invite you to work with us on this important project!
